James Seward is an artist who lives and works in New York. During our conversation, we talked about his most recent solo exhibition at the Hudson River Museum titled “Embrace, Cinematic Moments”. Which wrapped up a couple of weeks before the interview. We also talked about some of his notable accomplishments. Including his experience working for several years as an assistant painter for the internationally renowned artist Jeff Koons, and how he was able to have his own work published in the LA Times, on the cover of Newsweek Magazine, Ritz Carlton Magazine, New American Paintings, and American Art Collector.

Seiji Anderson is an Art Director, Designer and Animator who aims to bring together a rich sense of spatial design with cinematic visuals. Leveraging a keen eye for lighting, cinematography and environments, Seiji relishes the opportunities where CGI can meet narrative ideas to elevate a project’s emotional impact. He continues to push the boundaries of his craft by exploring emerging technologies such as Unreal Engine.
With a background in Architecture and Visualization, Seiji spent his early career working with world-renowned architects, including projects for the Obama Presidential Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After shifting his focus to motion design, he has had the privilege of delivering work across multiple films, TV series, and automotive projects for clients including Marvel Studios, Pixar, FX and Ford Motor Company.

This episode is a recording of my conversation with Massiel Mafes at her studio on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Massiel, a painter and textile artist originally from Miami, and I were connected by our mutual friend, Regina Jestrow, also an incredible fiber artist from Miami. Both Massiel and Regina are the 2024 studio residents at the Sam and Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts, located in Upstate New York. During our conversation, Massiel talked about her recent residency experience, describing the environment at the Golden Foundation, and the work she created during her time there.

Originally from Brazil, Gustavo has spent his entire life honing his skills and innate abilities as an artist. Drawn to the power and permanence of an image, Gustavo explores multiple mediums in his work, such as oil and acrylic painting, through everyday objects and other materials, touching on the slow transformative process that art takes with the passing of time.His work encompasses the decorative aspects of art nouveau, symbolism, and the clean modernist lines of contemporary art. This is the tenth conversation in my New York Minutes series. Carlos Nunez is a Venezuelan artist who lives and works in New York. His work addresses historical networks of power and their impact on mundanity. He focuses specifically on the relationships between Venezuela and the United States. 
Another component of Carlos’s creative endeavors is his art gallery, Mimo, located in Brooklyn. 
For the final months of 2024, Mimo has three shows lined up. The upcoming group exhibition will display work from Natalia Mejía, María Elena Pombo, and Renata Del Riego this will run from September 13, 2024 — October 13, 2024

Andrew Herzog is an American interdisciplinary artist and designer. He works medium agnostically on a mixture of ephemeral and indefinite projects that utilize a circular approach to working with the environment, technology, people, and constructed objects. In an effort to establish an accessible language for his work, he uses recognizable materials, methodologies, and mechanisms, creating opportunities to exercise our visual and critical perspectives. Employing his background in creative technology, graphic, and interaction design, his work offers spaces to interface with Art, each other, and our world amid the Anthropocene epoch. He is a partner and director at School, a design and engineering studio, and an alumnus of Google Creative Lab.
